This is Francis. Francis never skips leg day. He thinks you should just buy this book already. You wouldn't want to disappoint him...would you?*****
I love this book. It has patterns for a beaver, frog, rabbit, mole, snail, badger, deer, fox, squirrel, pheasant, hedgehog, owl, BEAR, racoon, and chipmunk, for those of you wondering (I always do, when I'm looking at an animals pattern book). I overstuffed Francis on purpose, so he's extra chunky and huggable. And, of course, he has very impressive legs. I used skeins from the cotton Sugar 'n Cream yarn line, the purple which I bought in 3 separate forays (so plan ahead, or your critter will have multiple dye lots, like Francis' subtly colorful shoulder). And the eyes are these in the brown: 15-Pair Craft Eyes Pack 12 mm in Sky Blue, Purple, Blue, Green, Brown. If you take the time to look more thoroughly through this super-cool book before starting (unike me), you'll find a great section in the back on techniques and tips, and maybe your Francis won't have that interesting patterning in his short (shaping) rows, because you DID wrap your yarn when turning, because you DID read about it first. Yes. Or you could always youtube it. Unless you're being held hostage by your purple bear and can't use the Internet. In which case this book has an awesome section in the back. So take a look!

Knitted Woodland Creatures A Collection of Cute Critters to Make eBook Susie Johns Reviews
The illustrations are very beautiful and the instructions very clear. The animals are charming and I can't wait to finish my first one.
I've knitted several of the animals.Directions are easy to follow. Animals are CUTE!
Darling toys for little ones. Leftovers can be used , colors can be changed, the animals can be either realistic or fantasy .
RABBIT for our granddaughter for Easter. I had to look up pattern corrections and thought it would fix the Head section....but no! the correction was incorrect. Frustrating as to what to do to make sure the head-to-body will make the legs! Awful. For this book's corrections, there are many for several of the animals. Would not recommend
I received this book yesterday and already made a snail! I'm not the most experienced knitter but the instructions were clear and the results are cute! I used some cascade yarn because the types in the instructions seem like they might be hard to find in the US. I found a few mistakes but there's an errata list that you can find here [...]
I purchase this pattern book specifically for the squirrel pattern. The first part of the pattern went fine, but when I came to the body section I found the counts were incorrect and had to keep adjusting - ended up pulling the project apart. I am an intermediate knitter and found this book frustrating - I'm glad I purchased this book used instead of new.
UK publication but translated to US instructions. Beautifully knit little critters. I consider myself a beginning intermediate. If I am highly motivated (which I am with these critters) I've learned I can knit just about anything - even if I have to start over and over multiple times, which I often do. Must know how to knit "in the round", meaning knitting with three or four double pointed needles so as to create a tube-like shape.
Don't let my comments dissuade you from buying this book and buying your yarn at your local yarn shop where they will help you get through the difficult parts.
